Are you driven by a taste of discovery? then you will be fascinated by the Sahara desert trek of Morocco and its beautiful palm groves, Valley of Draa, strewn of Oasis, large dunes, village fortified in Ksours, many archaeological sites marked by rock sculptures, you will spend nights in tents and often under the stars, you will contemplate the sunrise and sunset, you will have to walk in the footsteps of camels following the road of the caravans, the unprecedented discovery of the universe of nomads and the charm of the desert where calm prevails.

Tours Description

Sahara desert trek in the south of Morocco 10 days 9nights.

 

Day 01: arrival to the airport of Marrakesh, reception and transport to the hotel.

 

DAY 02: Marrakech – Zagora (Elfaïjaa) _ 390 km.

Riding on a 4 WDs, we begin the tour by road of Tizi-n-Tichka (2260m), and then have lunch in Ouarzazate. Continue by the Draa valley which is known for its beautiful palm groves, beautiful Ksars and a wide variety of ethnic, linguistic and historical. Arrival to Zagora and crossing of a vast plateau leading to the foot of Mount Jebel bani. (Meet the camels’ team). Dinner and night stay on the camp.

 

DAY 03: Elfaïjaa – Oasis Dyabi

Following our path, we cross without difficulty the passage of Jebel bani fossilized since elementary age, a beautiful panoramic view of the plateau Elfaïjaa. Then, go down a ravine to Assif of Oumsafi, followed by another rocky plateau dotted with palm trees and lonely acacia frequented by nomads. We will continue along the Assif to the Oasis of Dyabi. Dinner and night stay in the camp. 5-6 hours of walking.

 

DAY 04: Oasis Dyabi – Oum El Alleg.

A walking day along the Mhasser Assif exhibiting a moonscape, little vegetation, and iron-bearing limestone. Then pass by sheepherding fields. Lunch in Amdan ‘Oumsafy. Continue to the exit of Acacia semi-plateau. Dinner and night stay in Oum El Alleg. 4/ 5 hours of walking.

 

DAY 05: Oum El Alleg – Dunes of Chegaga.

We will continue walking through the acacia plateau by different desert plants. The terrain is rocky and sandy. In the afternoon, we cross small sand dunes all along the Oued covered by Kalotropis plant (endemic) before arriving to the big dunes of Chegaga. Contemplation of the sunset in a bivouac. Dinner and night stay down the dunes. 4/5 hours of walking.

 

DAY 06: Dune Chegaga – Dune Bouguerne.

We leave the dunes of Chegaga, and start soon walking in a tray topped with small hills leaving the rest of the dunes in our right. Then we cross the Oued Laatach, covered by large tamarisks trees. Then we will walk in a vast reg plateau and stony desert towards the dunes of Bouguerne. Dinner and night stay at the foot of the great dunes Bouguerne. 5/6 hours of walking.

 

DAY 07: Dune Bouguerne – Wadi Naam.

Crossing a series of rocky plateaus and small dunes of acacia and tamarisk trees to the next bivouac in Oued Naam. Dinner and night stay in camp around the dunes.

 

Day 08: Wadi Naam – Marrakech / Ouarzazate.

4 WDs will take us back to Marrakech by the road of Ouled Driss Zagra where we can stop by the village of potters: Tamegroute. On we go till Zagora, Draa Valley. Ouarzazate and Marrakesh at last.

 

DAY 09: Tour of Marrakech.

 

DAY 10: Transfer to the airport and departure
